TARGET-X goes to Italy: The last Consortium Meeting this year
Wrapping up the year strong, the TARGET-X consortium gathered for its final 2024 meeting on October 22–23 in Bologna, Italy, with Marposs as the host. For two highly productive days all consortium partners from all over Europe reviewed the project´s progress made and established the direction for the project’s final phase.
The TARGET-X team assessed the progress of the project´s use cases across the verticals manufacturing, energy, automotive and construction. Key goals were outlined, emphasizing the importance of advancing 5G technology while laying the groundwork for future developments in 6G vision. Innovation management emerged as another central theme, highlighting strategies for fostering creativity and agility in adapting to rapidly changing technological landscapes. On top, the consortium discussed cybersecurity aspects, the review from the first open call projects, and the project’s engagement towards end-users.
Thanks to the great arrangement by the host Marposs, discussions not only focused on the future of 6G technology but also on the very roots of wireless communication. In celebration of the 150th anniversary of the invention of wireless communication, a special highlight was a visit to the Marconi Museum in Bologna. The museum showcased the pioneering achievements of Guglielmo Marconi, the “Father of Wireless Communication,” whose inventions laid the groundwork for today’s technology.
2025 upfront, TARGET-X is charging into the final stretch, focussing on the progressive work with the projects from the second Open Call. Appreciation goes to Marposs for hosting and to all partners for the teamwork driving us toward a strong finish!
